The inner authority

Within us all is a space untouched
A place of knowing and of bliss
It waits only to be recognized
And not categorized
Told how it must look, judged

If each of us would take the time
To imagine that spark in all we meet
The world might be transformed
Reborn, reformed
At least, I imagine, the world around us

If each of us would take the time
To imagine that place inside ourselves
To take the long and quiet breath
To take the time to just be still

And know

That still small voice inside us all
Smiling...I Am That I Am
For of course You Are
You who pretend to be separate,
To not have this place inside you
Waiting in simple smiling repose

It is simple
Be Still and Know

We have the equipment,
Who here is afraid that we might use it?
Those who wish to see us stay in fear?
Ah, the pull is great
And the finances seem hard

Still, that place has not left
Still that quiet strength of knowing
Resides within you,
With you as you
